– My latest trip to DC was awesome!
– The road trip was very peaceful both there & back
– It’s amazing what 16 hours of driving to great music can do.

The main purpose of the trip was to photograph the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin & the time that I spent there was amazing. Yeah, it was a little windy after the thunderstorm but the sights were just breathtaking.

After walking around the basin for a little over an hour, I found a bench & took the time to just sit and enjoy. As I sat, then wind became gentler & the falling cherry blossoms looked like flying fairies, almost dream like against the bright sky.

My hosts with no doubt treated me well. We dined, talked shit, laughed, & hit the city hard & fast. I’m still tripping over the fact that I was able to talk my BFF & his wifey boo into joining me on the 5am photowalk around the Tidal Basin.

It was so fucking cold but we made it happen & had a great time photographing & freezing our asses off.

There were other high & low lights (you should have followed me on Twitter for details), but why bore you to death. Just know this; I love DC! It’s like my new New York & I think it’s such a great city to be a Negro in.

My next trip to DC is already set in stone. Suite Suzy & I are headed to my new favorite place to be in June for the Capital Jazz Fest. We are still trying to figure out if we are driving or flying because there are pros & cons to both. I hope to have a decision at the end of the week so that this is one less thing to think about.

Anyway, here is a link to the photos that I capture on the trip. I hope you do enjoy them.

Side Note:
Jill Scott’s new show “The Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency. And I love a woman of traditional build!
