Last week on my mini NYC vacay, I was hoping that I would snap out of my photographers block. Before the trip it had been a little over two weeks since I had picked up my camera.
While driving to NYC, there were several moments when I wished I could stop along the road to photograph the monochormatic fogged over mountains but it was only a thought (It was so beautiful!).
Anyway once we got to the city & I saw how decorated Manhattan was, I set my mind of doing some cool night photography but when the night came, I decided to chill in the room instead.
Luckily NY blogger José Vilson got me out of my funk last Friday when we set-up a photoshoot. The photoshoot with José also spared me from having to go to the American Girl Doll store with the girls (I hate that place with a passion.)
The shoot with José lasted a few hours & in the time we spent it seemed like we toured the entire city (or at least in my mind). We started out in Brooklyn by the bridge, then off to the subway, then to Columbus circle. Good thing José knows how to get around because the travel was dizzying, yet fun at the same time.
The shoot went very well & it is so true that José is one cool brotha from another mutha.
Post shoot, I am feeling better artistically & have a little photographer energy. I’m now planning out some things to do to keep myself busy & focused.
The above image is something I tricked out for fun. Usually I do not style my own photos for some unknown reason. There was a nice little tutorial in the latest “Photoshop User” magazine that really worked with this image.

BTW forgive me, when I wrote this, I was 4 gin cocktails deep (well maybe 6).
