Talk about sowing seeds. Yesterday I questioned, “Why come no one called me this morning and offered me the photographic opportunity of a lifetime.” Well I guess someone in the universe was listening to me because today I got a phone call.
Tony Agee (the graffiti artist that tricked out my MacBook Pro several months ago) hit me up & told me that he was curating an art show at the end of August & requested that I submit some work for display & sale.
Anyway, I can submit up to 4 pieces & I have selected 2 images, The Wave & Flight of the Syrphid Fly.
I need help picking 2 additional pieces, so that means that I need your help choosing. Check out my contact sheet (click here) & give me your feedback, please.
Thx!!!

I can’t view the page…something about it being a private page and I have no access to it. I put in my yahoo ID – but it won’t me go any farther.

Pout. The page said I didn’t have access. But I love the other two. Question: I can get either an iMac (big screen, whoo hoo) or a MacBook Pro. WHat would you do? I’ll be doing web stuff, video editing…On the one hand, I like being mobile, on the other, there’s nothing like working in your jammies….

My bad, I forgot I have things on lockdown on the Flickr page. Anyway, please try now!!!!!
Renea – Oh, touch choice. We have a iMac & I think it is awesome. It is fast, the screen quality is impeccable & it is overall a great value.
I also have a MacBook Pro & it is the shit. But choosing between the 2, I say go with the MacBook Pro because on those it is so much better to be working from the couch or the bed or the coffee shop or the park or where ever!!! And there is heavy buzz that a new MacBook Pro is on the horizon.
Finally, I would also strongly suggest getting a refurb to save some cash. My MacPro desktop is a refurb & so is my 30" monitor & they come with the same apple warranty, but I also go apple care for extended service should I need it. Most times the refurb prices are better than the educational discount.
Let me know whet winds up happening.

I just got my first gallery gig too (i.e., for some of my jewelry)! I was also wondering what the deal was with *my* stuff–vs. other stuff I’ve seen that finds its way into galleries, etc. Feels a wee bit surreal now that it’s actually happened.
Anyhoo, congrats, and you know if I give you an opinion here, you’re going to have to return the favor and provide me with some feedback when I’m sorting through some of my stuff…
I would go with “Flight” and “Perfect Popping Poppy.” I love the way the stamen are really clear and in focus, and that they’re so abstract you have to do a double-take to figure out what the hell you’re looking at. Ok, yes, I think most of us know it’s some part of a flower (petals a dead giveaway, sure), but still–it could be coral–or anything.
My two cents…

Swirl and PPP are the ones for me!
Meikmeika / July 31, 2008
I third PPP & Swirl! Congratulations!
Los Angelista / July 31, 2008
Congrats on this! And I think PPP is hot, too! I also like that deep twilight picture you took awhile back with a tree. That was a great one.

I love both images, especially the fly. That is a truly brilliant shot and you’ve had many.
