I took myself on a photowalk at the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market this past Saturday for a little fun. I winded up getting some great shots, but I also winded up broke as hell.
I left after I spent 40 bucks & had very little to show for. A quart of black raspberries, a huge bag of basil, 3 loaves of artesian bread & 2 moon flower plants.
When I got home, I made a black raspberry simple syrup, which I later used to drizzle over some double vanilla ice cream that was served with pound cake. Then I made enough pesto to get me through WW III. The plants have not been planted yet & half dried out on the kitchen island. And the bread has barley been touched.
I guess I had fun getting broke & maybe that is all that matters.

I’m soooo feeling your woes right now. I go grocery shopping and get hardly nothing…then I stop and wonder why the hell it costs so much.
I’m loving the simple syrup idea.
I finally started a food blog too – http://www.everydaycookin.blogspot.com

The produce is gorgeous. Feels like I can reach out and touch it. I’m a big fan of blackberries.
I remember snapping the ends off string beans for my Gran when she would cook them.
Great shots as always.

DTW – Suite Suzy hates going to the store because that shit is ridiculous. Everything cost more & you get much less.
SDG1844 – I wanted to buy beans but the budget ran short. LOL!!!!

I know I won’t be hitting up the farmer’s market anytime soon. Back before prices skyrocketed I was dropping $40 just on fruit. I don’t even need to go to know prices are ridiculous! 🙁
