Well, I got married for love, the love of my then babies momma & the love of my sweet baby Olivia (I cannot believe I just said that mushy shit).
What I really wanted to start this post out with was the fact that I found my precious (wedding ring). Actually Suit Suzy found it yesterday with going through my laundry. We were both relieved that it was found but I think Suite Suzy was more excited than I.
I think she sees the ring as a shield against anyone looking to get some of my hot dick & nuts. I was happy that it was found because that I had one less thing to be dogged out about.
Needless to say, I will not be taking my ring into the gym anymore!
Anyway……….
Saturday me & my boo went on a childless date for a little dinner for a movie (finally). Of course we went to see Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married”.
I am not in the mood to go into all of the details, so I am just going to say, if you have not seen it yet, go ASAP!
We both loved the movie & thought Tyler outdid himself bit time. I appreciated all of the characters & that bitch “Mike”.
Putting myself out there, I got a little teary eyed on a few scenes because I was seeing somethings that resonated with me as far as my behavior, feelings & thoughts. Some of the scenarios mos def showed me that I was in a good relationship that needs some nurturing, patience, understanding & sex.
This is the 1st movie of Tyler’s that I would not consider a “Black” movie & that is OK. I think anyone can see this film & walk away with something that they can relate to good, bad, ugly or all.
Jill Scott did a wonderful job & I would love to see her & her tib ole bitties in more films. There was a point where I thought that her song “Wanna Be Loved” was going to be played because it would have fit this movie so well.
I have yet to talk to anyone who thought the movie was wack, so I guess that is saying something really good. Not to mention that it has taken in more than $53.2 million so far
“Why Did I Get Married” is more proof that we are more than drug dealers, jokesters, losers, $2 hoes (Halle Berry) etc.
With all of this said, Tyler, if you are reading this, I am no longer mad at you for making “Daddy’s Little Girls“.
Have you seent’ the movie yet? What are your thoughts???????

How about I haven’t seen this yet?!?!

Ok Byg,
I guess I’ll be serious on this one :o). I saw the movie and having been married and divorced. It spoke volumes to me, about what I want the next go around, if there is to be a “next go around”. Yeah Mike was a total “BITCH” at the dinner table scene. Janet & Jill made me just break down and boohoo. As crazy as it sounds my next BOO would have to be a mixture of the Tyler, Malik & Michael. Those three men were committed, wanted it to work. Nothing makes a woman feel mo betta than to know that her Boo WANTS her, & her only even with her imperfections, grippin’, and secrets.
I’m with you, LOVED IT!! I give it 2 snaps around the world with a twist!!!
Ro~ / November 13, 2007
that was supposed to be “gripin'”
Ms Stella / November 13, 2007
I saw the movie with about 6 other married women and I really enjoyed it. I plan to buy the (official)dvd.
I want to take my hubby to see it even though he thinks T.P. is a cross-dressing undercover freak (his words not mine)sigh….
Shea / November 14, 2007

I decided to check this out today. I liked the idea of the movie. But I sat there wondering…Why did Tyler Perry cast himself in this movie? Beyond that, I enjoyed Tasha Smith and Jill Scott’s performances the most. They really committed to their characters. I enjoyed Richard Scott and Lamman Rucker. But Malik Yoba lost me as soon as he came in with that damn ascot…lol.
But I think this movie is a step in the right direction for Perry and definitely fodder for good conversation.

Happy you enjoyed it & I also wondered why he cast himself. I do not think that he is a good actor outside of Madea (sp?).
LOL on Malik!!! I really do not care for him. He is not that good of an actor to me & he always looks ashy as hell. I think I need to send him sm Quench like soon!!!

He needs some Lip Chap bad.
Carla / November 19, 2007
Although I’ve heard mixed reviews about the movie, I really liked it too! I also thought it was his best film to date. Playwriting is different from film, so he is probably learning that he has to portray things differently for it to work in film.
I’m really proud of this brotha, though. He is doing great things and providing positive entertainment. I hope it catches on!
And y’all ain’t right talkin’ bout Malik! Yes, his whole body does look chapped den a mug all the time. But it’s because he has ecsema (sp?). I still like him…dry, chappy lips and all! LOL!
Bygbaby / November 19, 2007
Renea – LOL!!!
Carla – You are on point & I too hope to see more!
Although I am not celebrating xmas anymore & Chrisy Brown gets on my nerve, I want to go on a family to see “This Xmas”. I think it will be excellent!.

not sure how he could have cast jill scott in the moving and not have her at least sing along to some of the music that she was listening to. that seems criminal, if not negligent to me!
also, i had a hard time believing that at least two of the male characters were not on the dl (note, i said the characters, not the actors).
Bygbaby / November 25, 2007
muslimahlocs – Jill should have mos def done a song or two. I think that would have sent the movie over the top!
I like your theory & what if one or more of the characters were on the DL. hit this movie would have hit home with a lot of people out there. So who are your suspects??? Marcus? Terry?
Talk to me!!!
Bygbaby
muslimahlocs / November 27, 2007
the usual suspects of course: marcus, the former football player
and
tyler perry’s character (don’t recall his name) had donnie mcclurkin vibe.
Bygbaby / November 27, 2007
Muslimahlocs – uh oh, am I good or what. I think TP is suspect on GP but it doesn’t matter to me since I am down with his skill for the most part.
