Going to Whole Foods is always a fun trip but as anyone who shops there, it can break yo’ ass & today was no exception for me.
I simply stopped in to pick up a salad for lunch & next thing I know, I’m at the register with purple artichokes, pomegranates & an $18water SIGG water bottle (what the fuck was I thinking???).
The fruit & veggies were of course to eat but really for me to get some cool photographs. Now when I see certain fruits or veggies, especially ones that are not totally common, I think about how I could compose them for a shot.
Anyway, here is my hard earned money at work.
We will be having pomegranates for desert tonight & the artichokes with dinner tomorrow.
Pomegranates: Did You Know:
- Exodus 28:33–34 directed that images of pomegranates be woven onto the borders of Hebrew priestly robes
- The Qur’an mentions pomegranates three times (6:99, 6:141, 55:068) — twice as examples of the good things God creates, once as a fruit found in the Garden of Paradise
- The Moors (Yes, Negroes) who brought the seedy fruit to Spain round 800 A.D.
- Spanish Padres are credited with bringing pomegranates to California in 1769
Artichokes: Did You Know:
- Purple artichokes are more nutritious than their green counterpart.
- Artichokes are native to the Mediterranean basin
- California claims to be the “Artichoke Capital of the World.”
- Total crop value of artichokes for the 2002-2003 crop season was almost $50 million

I love marinated artichokes on fresh green salads.

I love artichokes on a salad too but with black pepper. Delicious!
$18! Good Lawd that’s a lot of money. Can I just have a sip for 50 cents.

Hahahaha!!! Sophia that was funny.
Byg,
I tell you what, pomegranates, are the most delicious fruit, but they are a tease. It’s one of those foods that you can’t lie about eatin’ the evidence would be all over you hands, lips. A MESS!!

$18 for a bottle of water. I hope there was some alcohol in it at least. I won’t mention this to my wife, ’cause she’ll start buying them by the six pack.

When Suite Suzy saw the price on the water bottle, she was like what the fuck were you thinking!!! Yes, I’m known for wasteful spending.
Ro – I busted one of the kids sneaking around eating a pomegranate that I had already cut. Juice was all on the floor & I asked her who opened up the pomegranate & she lied & said that it was not her. Unfortunate for her, I found the evidence when I looked at her hand.
Needless to say, she got in major trouble for lying.

Yumm!
I love Whole Wallet too.
We have that water bottle too – in a gold color. It was a gift, since it’s Swiss! But what exactly is so great about it, I don’t know. Please cool me in, I mean, clue me in.

Brunsli – I have no idea why it is so hot (in price). The guy was stocking them & I was like I like the way they look then I saw the price & said fuck that.
After a moment or so I said, well I like the black one & need something for work anyway. Next thing you know, I am like WTF but of well.
I am at work as we speak drinking out of if.
I have the one pictured above.

Ok, so how does it taste?!?! For 18 bucks it betta be like having a cigarette, or chocolate, or the perfect 4 inch pump.
Bygbaby / October 8, 2007
wait wait wait, the 18 bucks was for the water bottle itself not for a bottle of water. I would be a total fool to even trying an 18 dollar bottle of water. FYI
A 4 inch pump, damn!!! That is some serious shit & a must see. My mom used to rock 3 inches back in the day.

I read somewhere that if you stick to your shopping list at whole foods and buy things that are sold in regular supermarkets you will not really break the bank. So they say.
I like the water bottle.

Meikeika – That is a good bet!
Cluizel – I Gonna Getcha Sucka. How could you forget?!?!?!
GC – I would have to see it to believe. I know one thing, Whole Foods can really temp your ass just like Target!

We put our Swiss bottle to good use by filling it with wine before camping in Yosemite. It’s lighter than a glass bottle…

Hehe, I’m late, but as you saw on my blog, I got one! I *love* the design on yours…
I hate to say it, but I feel a “collectibles” urge coming on with these. I almost got two for me–the other one that says “Friends don’t let friends drink from plastic.” [Those will be x-mas gifts for folks.] Then, there’s a really cute one on the site–the purple Maharadsha one. But, first I need to find one to match my Vera Bradley “raspberry fizz” gym bag–got my main handbag covered. Hehe.
Cool food photos too!

Oh, and I forgot to add that as I mentioned, that 30% off coupon takes the sting out of the price too…
And, as of right now, in the news, they’re *still* talking about the plastics/BPA issue. Sigh! Nothing is “safe” anymore.
