I think I have blogging burn out! I have been going strong for the last few months & I think I am running out of steam.
For a period I did many posts on race & after the Imus (“nappy headed hoes”)/Hip-Hop jump off I know I became racially exhausted so I tried to focus on other stuff.
Lately, I have found myself not reading some of my favorite blogs that deal with race because I do not want to get charged up.
I also think I am suffering from a case of ghetto writers block because every time I start a post, I find myself stuck in thought & eventually giving up closing Word then closing my laptop.
I hope my slump ends soon because there are so many things on my mind that I need to get out.
Do you know where I am coming from, do you/have you suffered something similarly???
Talk to me,

It’s tough to keep emotional energy up all the time.
Maybe you could try blogging about only good news for a few weeks. This would include, of course, any photos taken with your new camera.
One of the reasons my blog is so therapeutic for me is that I spend so much time fretting about such a silly thing — my hair — and it’s a break from my real-life pressures. Which reminds me, back to learning about resulting trusts…

I stay within the AfroSpear because I like to know what folks are up to and what the temperature is for Black folks in other areas of the nation and the world.
I read an article on someone’s blog that said a lot of black people (particularly women) are shutting down their blogs and/or being run off the net because racists, white supremacists, anonymous cowards are leaving nasty comments, sending threatening email and even letters to their houses. So I can only imagine how exhausting blogging can be. But if you enjoy it, the material will come and as Brusli said it can be very therapeutic to talk about what’s on your mind -good and bad.
I commend folks who have blogs and are able to connect with their audiences through comments, etc. I, personally, do not have the kind of mental and emotional stamina necessary to maintain a blog. So I just stick to commenting 🙂

Thx yall!!!
Brunsli – It seems like my spot is becoming a photo gallery. I am starting to wonder if I am posting to many boring pictures. Well I guess this is my spot, which gives me the right to bore people to death LOL.
“it’s a break from my real-life pressures” me too & I need to put that back into perspective.
Plack – “I, personally, do not have the kind of mental and emotional stamina necessary to maintain a blog. So I just stick to commenting :)” I think you are smart LOL.
BTW thanks for checking me out!

Um… The idea of someone sending me mail to my home is kind of scary. Hmmm… I don’t know what to think about that.
Big, I know what you’re going through. I get a little blogger’s block every few months. LOL And as soon as I think I’m going to call it quits, I feel compelled to get to writing again.
However, I think that I will shift gears soon. I’ll probably maintain this blog for the rest of the year. But after that, I’ll probably let it go.
I really need to use this time that I’m blogging to write a book. But I don’t turn my nose up at blogging. Blogging has prepared me for the book.

I haven’t posted to my blog in months. Life just got too deep for awhile. It’s like a garden that needs tending. I’ll get out there and weed it eventually.

Eric C – OK since you asked, no hiatus. I think I am back on the wagon already/
