Following up to my “2007 Detroit Festival of the Arts: Finding The Little Things” post, I wanted to share with show the other bracelet that I got from Ruby Ballard-Harris.
I tried to recreate the shot set up from the previous post but cold not get my lighting just right so I had to switch it up a bit but I am still happy with the end result.
This was my 1st image project with my new Nikon D40 SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera.
When I opened the camera the other night, it was very intimidating with all of the settings, button, bell & whistles but I think it will be great fun getting to know my new baby.
Anyway more on my feelings about the camera in a future post.
Since I got this little beauty, I have been wearing the hell out of it. Suite Suzy wants one for herself & she keeps looking at mine. Luckily it’s too big for her wrist!
The bracelet is actually made of Sterling Silver, Wood, African Bone, Red/Green Jade & Amber.

I really do wish I could see your pictures. That’s the greatest thing I miss about seeing. The beauty of certain images… No matter how good my imagination is, there are some things that cannot be understood/enjoyed/experienced unless you see them.
When I was a girl (before I started losing my sight.), I loved looking at pictures. I also looked forward to the day that I could grow up and own my very own camera to take wonderful shots.
Well, that day never came for me. But for you it did. And I’m not jealous… I’m happy for you.
Keep taking pictures for both of us.

Angie thanks! It sounds like you have had many obstacles to overcome over the years & have not given up. I cannot imagine life without one of my senses but I know that it has to take a strong person to pick up the pieces of their life & make lemonade with the bag of lemons that life dealt them.
Can you enlighten me/us to your story?
