Last night (Tuesday) I ventured to the Bosco for a party thrown by Clear Magazine & Adobe. I was pretty excited about this party for one reason only & that was because it was in part thrown by Adobe, which happens to produce my favorite software packages which include Photoshop, Image Ready, Illustrator, Macromedia DreamWeaver & Flash blah, blah, blah.
Anyway I entered the party with high hopes for a good time & thoughts on having a few Mojitos to really set the night off. As I entered the bar, I saw the crowd was pretty decent or so it seemed; so I sat at the bar, ordered my first drink & chilled while thumbing through the current Clear Magazine edition. To tell the truth, I had never heard of Clear Magazine & was very impressed with what I saw of this international fashion magazine based in Royal Oak MI. As time and my 2nd drink disappeared, I left the bar hoping to mingle with the one person from Adobe but he was crowded by others so I chilled for a bit before I struck up a conversation.
Afterwards, I realize that I would not get my chance to kick it with the Adobe guy, so I ordered another drink & started to think about leaving but then all of the sudden I started to crave a McDonalds cheeseburger, like I was smoking & got the munchies or something. About this time I was on my 4th & last Mojito & noticed that the Adobe guy was gone (oh well), so I left the party & started to hunt down a McDonalds. Now I am on the drive through ordering a #2 (2 cheeseburgers, fries & drink) which I ate just as fast as I ordered it.
On the way home I decided to stop by my best friend Brion’s house to chill for a bit & let my slight buzz wind down while talking shit. As my mind started to clear as I talked shit with Brion, I thought about the party that pretty much sucked & how I wasted a ¼ tank of gas getting to the party, 35 on drinks & 5.35 on my #2 from Mickey D’s. OK so like I said it was a party thrown by Clear Magazine & Adobe but there was only one person there from Adobe which had me thinking WTF; how was it a joint party with only one rep (maybe my expectations were too high & I am trippin’).
One good thing did come from the party that is worth mentioning & that is I heard a song by Foster Sylvers from 1973 called Misdemeanor (you may know this song). I have heard the song sampled before (The D.O.C – It’s Funky Enough) but never the real song so I thought this was pretty cool. The 1st thing I did when I got home was download this & I am jamming to it as I end this somber note.
