Mind Spill BlogMy girl Queen Latifah is truly representing in Hollywood now that she has the 1st star of 2006 (2,298th star) on the Hollywood walk of fame in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. I have always considered the Queen to be a trailblazer 1st, she breaks down doors & defies stereotypes. One of the first female rappers, starred in a successful television show that portrayed 6 twenty somethings living in learning in a show that I call the original friends (“Living Single“), she has launched a successful movie career & just last year she put out the classy & jazzy Dana Owens album. You can see Queen on several beauty mags & commercials, there is just no stopping her. Wait I forgot to mention that she is also a Grammy winner & previous Oscar nominee. This girl got some skills!

I have enjoyed just about every movie the Queen has been in but I am still kind of iffy about how I feel about “Taxi” & “The Cook Out.” Next Friday she will be starring in a new movie titled “Last Holiday” where she’s plays shy woman who is diagnosed with a terminal illness that decides to take a European vacation to live it up.

When I watched her as they unveiled the star yesterday, all I saw was sheer genuine excitement. During the celebration she stated “I think the reason I am here is to inspire African-American women who are rappers, full-figured women to know that they can do it, too,”. At 35 she has a long way to go to make a lot of shit happen, all hail the Queen!!!
